CENTRE DESCRIPTION

This centre is located in the heart of York, a unique and historic city in northern England. York is known for its well-preserved medieval walls and the stunning York Minster, one of the largest Gothic cathedrals in Europe. The city's charming cobbled streets, like the famous Shambles, are filled with lovely shops and cafés. York offers a rich cultural experience, with museums, galleries and remarkable historic buildings that showcase its vibrant past – an overall ideal place for groups to explore while improving their English skills.

Hosting our summer camp is York St John University, a 11-acre campus close to the city walls and the historic centre of York. It offers modern teaching, sports and leisure facilities, the campus restaurant, all in a mix of historic and contemporary buildings. Although the campus is located in the heart of a lively city, it offers plently of welcoming green spaces, floral gardens, and small parks perfect for relaxation and leisure.

St John Central, the modern accommodation block is located in the heart of York, just a fifteen-minute walk from the main campus, offering single en-suite rooms, generously sized social areas, and shared kitchens.

Residential option

On-campus accommodation is in single rooms with en-suite bathroom facilities. The accommodation block is located a 15-minute walk from the main campus.

All excursions include a walking tour and are escorted by PLUS staff, except for the self-guided visits in 21-Night Programmes, which allow groups to explore independently.

Our New Essential Package is designed to give your group maximum flexibility at a lower cost. On Flexible Days, groups may choose whether or not to join the scheduled Classic Excursions. When they prefer not to take part, they are free to rest, explore independently, or enhance their stay through our selection of add-ons.

Transfers
PLUS can arrange your group's airport transfer, with a meet & greet in the arrivals hall and transport straight to the centre. Prices are in the Agency Area, and arrival guides for each airport are on our Arrivals page.

Groups remaining on campus will be provided with a packed lunch, including those on an Essential package when other packages are scheduled for excursions. Our meal cycle starts with lunch on arrival day and finishes with breakfast on departure day. The first and last meals may be packed. Please always arrive on time at the canteen, as late arrivals may miss their meal once service has ended.
