is the capital of Scotland with stunning architecture and beautiful medieval streets. It has two distinct areas: The Old Town dominated by a medieval castle; and the New Town which is considered a masterpiece in city planning. There are plenty of cobbled alleyways blended with Georgian style buildings. Edinburgh has a compact city centre which is easy to explore on foot. One of the best places to see the breath-taking panoramas of Edinburgh is Arthur's Seat. It is an easy hike even for those who don't do it often. There is plenty to see and do: great shopping, international festivals, a huge variety of cafes and restaurants and a cosmopolitan environment with a distinctly Scottish twist. Edinburgh is well linked to the rest of the country by road and rail.
